Morialta Matters
Issue 39

The state budget included some cost-of-living relief measures for concession holders, and the government extended the public-school fee relief measures that I first announced as a former Education Minister at the beginning of last year, but there was very little else for homeowners or small businesses. The Liberal Opposition will continue to pressure the government to do more to assist these South Australians, who are doing it tough.

In the spirit of service, I am proud to launch a new monthly initiative that will recognise service offered by people in our community from all walks of life: the Morialta Community Award! You are invited to nominate someone you think is a ‘local hero’. It could be a volunteer, or a teacher, or someone whose business or community group makes you proud to be here. We will also forward all the monthly winners to their local council’s citizen of the year award.
