The State Liberals have welcomed today’s announcement regarding increased funding to non-government schools in South Australia.
“The State Liberals support increasing funding to non-government schools,” said Shadow Minister for Education John Gardner.
“We understand the important role non-government schools play in our education system and look forward to working with the sector if elected in March 2018.
“Under the Weatherill Labor Government, state government support for South Australia’s non-government schools has fallen to the lowest level of all states and territories in the nation.
“Today’s announcement highlights how much has been necessary to bridge the gap that has been allowed to develop between South Australia and other states.
“To enable schools to prepare for the future with confidence, we can confirm today that a Marshall Liberal Government will deliver all funding increases that the government has announced in the forward estimates.
“We will announce the details of our full plans for non-government schools in the lead up to the state election.”
