Public School Investment

 

The Government is massively increasing investment in our public schools and working to improve outcomes for our students.

Yesterday’s strike action, which saw 20% of our schools and preschools close, was unwarranted and caused disruption to many students and their families.

Despite the claims of the Union we have always remained ready to continue respectful negotiations on the EB, and will continue to do so in good faith.

Luther 500: quincentenary of reformation

31/10/1517 saw Martin Luther nail his 95 theses - opposing the sale of indulgences for the forgiveness of sins - to the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church, setting in train a chain of events that led to the reformation and changed the world. 500 years later many Lutherans and other Christians in the Morialta community have been marking the occasion and I was pleased to do so in the Parliament.

Recognising Spring Head Trinity Lutheran School

At the end of 2017 the Spring Head Trinity Lutheran School in Mount Torrens will be closing its doors due to demographic change leading to low enrolments. As the second oldest Lutheran School in Australia it has a history (and a present) worth recognising and celebrating and on 5 July I took the opportunity to do so in the House of Assembly.
