On 21 June Premier Weatherill, in response to interim recommendations from Royal Commissioner Nyland, finally agreed to separate Families SA and child protection responsibility from the Education Department. Premier Weatherill had been resisting calls from the Opposition and the community to do this for years, and when finally forced to do so he demonstrated in Question Time that he still did not believe he had done anything wrong.
